Speedway HOF induction is Saturday
Four more people will be inducted into the Jackson Speedway Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon during a ceremony in the Anderson Building at the fairgrounds.
Drivers Matt Spies (Spirit Lake, Iowa), Joel Taylor (Milford, Iowa) and Larry Smith (Windom) and VFW Racing Association member and track worker Mike Thurmer (Jackson) will all officially be members of the Hall of Fame Saturday.
The induction ceremony is set for 4 p.m.
All race fans are invited to attend the ceremony and check out the hundreds of pieces of memorabilia collected through years of racing at the Jackson Speedway.
Photos and biographies of the HOF inductees will be in next week’s paper.
