Defensive Driving Refresher Class

If you've previously taken an 8-hour defensive driving class three years or more ago, this class will enable you to renew or continue your 10% auto insurance discount. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the class. Coffee and cookies served. The class is held at the Bowler's Inn meeting room in Lakefield. Fee: $20. Register by Feb. 29 ($5 extra if paying at the door.) Instructors: Jim Harner, Joe Roberts and Leroy Linbloom.

This course is for citizens 55 years of age and older. Minnesota law requires all insurance companies to give a 10% discount on auto insurance to anyone over 55 who completes a safe driving course such as this. 119th Annual Jackson Firefighters Dance will be held at the Jackson National Guard Armory from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Food provided by the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion for a minimal cost. Dancing, raffle drawing, beverages served by the American Legion Post #130.
