World Day of Prayer observance March, 2 / 2:00 PM Community
The local observance of World Day of Prayer 2012 will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lakefield. This year's service was prepared by the women of Malaysia, they have chosen the theme 'Let Justice Prevail.' A time of fellowship and lunch will follow the service.

Defensive Driving Refresher Class March, 3 / 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Community
If you've previously taken an 8-hour defensive driving class three years or more ago, this class will enable you to renew or continue your 10% auto insurance discount. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the class. Coffee and cookies served. The class is held at the Bowler's Inn meeting room in Lakefield. Fee: $20. Register by Feb. 29 ($5 extra if paying at the door.) Instructors: Jim Harner, Joe Roberts and Leroy Linbloom.


Defensive Driving Course March, 3 / 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Community
This course is for citizens 55 years of age and older. Minnesota law requires all insurance companies to give a 10% discount on auto insurance to anyone over 55 who completes a safe driving course such as this. Sherburn Lions Club Pancake Breakfast March, 4 / 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM Community
The Sherburn Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast at Martin County West High School in Sherburn. Proceeds will fund community projects and smart boards for MCW schools. A freewill offering will be accepted. Those who wish to contribute old or new shoes for a new Lions project called Soles 4 Souls, will find collection boxes available at the breakfast.
