Jackson County Household Hazardous Waste Facility open June-October. First Monday and third Saturday of each month. Monday 9-11am and 12-3pm. Saturday 9-11am. Please see Livewire for examples of waste and what NOT to bring. HHW Facility is located at the Jackson County Highway Department 1 mile west of Jackson on County Road #34.

By studying the clouds, the direction of the wind, and figuring out the air pressure, you can learn to forecast the weather! Learn how to collect this information, to identify cloud formations and make parts to your own weather station. From 2pm-4pm, open to children who have completed 4th-7th grade. During this two day camp, you will learn how to use a compass and high-tech GPS unit to find your way in the woods, tromp the river paths of Kilen Woods State Park and find out just what it takes to hide and survive.
