Anyone having issues with alcohol, drugs or any other addiction is welcome to attend the weekly meetings of the Jackson Recovery Group. The meetings are open to everyone on either Monday or Wednesday from 6 to 7 pm at the First Presbyterian Church.


Grief Support Group May, 2 / 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM Community
A grief support group will take place 6 consecutive Thursdays at Sanford Jackson Medical Center. Anyone who has experienced a loss through death is welcome to attend. This support group provides members with educational information and an opportunity to share grief experiences in a supportive environment. Pre-registration is requested. Girl's Night Out May, 2 / 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM Community
A Girl's Night Out: 50 Shades of Pink will take place Thursday, May 2, from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Jackson's EconoLodge. More than 25 exhibitors will be featured in addition to a style show, wine tasting, entertainment, food, and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will assist women in the area to receive free heart screenings. Matching funds will be provided by the Jackson Healthcare Foundation.


Extra Garbage Pickup May, 4 / 12:00 AM Community
Waste Management of Southern Minnesota and the City of Jackson will pick up everything after your spring cleaning, at no extra charge! Items to be picked up at no extra charge include: furniture mattresses, carpet, household goods. Jackson City Hall to sell tags for electronics and appliances -These items must be tagged to be hauled away.

Child and Teen check-up clinics are held in the Community Health Clinic Room by appointments - 847-2366. PEBC Hypertufa Planter Class May, 18 / 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Community
Do you like mudpies? Or do you like crafting things to use in your garden? Then this is just the class for you - especially if you like to get messy! Hypertufa is a rock-like material that can be shaped into pots or sculpture. Its porous nature makes it ideal for potting up a variety of plants. Participants will learn how to mix the hypertufa ingredients and create their very own planters/pots. Each person will be able to make 2-3 planters to take home. All hypertufa ingredients provided however participants will be given a list upon registration of a few supplies that participants will need from home.
