Tee time at the Corn Cob Open
2008 Corn Cob Open

With corn in the background and the Corn Cob Open flag in the foreground, Brandon Romsdahl chips onto the green during the 26th annual Corn Cob Open. Romsdahl was one of 537 golfers and duffers to play in the tournament, which took place last Thursday at the Jackson Golf Club, Emerald Valley Golf Club and Loon Lake Golf Course. Seven hundred and twenty-eight rib eye dinners were served at the Jackson Golf Course for the evening meal.

After splitting the first four games of a best-of-five series, the Jackson Bulls and Adrian A’s played Game 5 Thursday night in Adrian, with the winner earning a trip to the Class C state baseball tournament.
Big weekend for Bensons
Saturday and Sunday could not have gone much better for the Benson family. Kelly won the women's club championship at the Jackson Golf Club and the Benson men finished as the top three golfers in the men's tournament.
Joyce shatters personal record in 3.25-mile swim
When Dan Joyce entered the water at 7 a.m. Aug. 2, his main goal was to finish the 3.25 mile Point to Point swim in less than the three hours, three minutes and six seconds it took him to complete the race in 2006.
