Farmer reaches milestone in big winFree Access


Jackson County Central junior Maci Farmer scored the 1,000th point of her career Thursday as the Huskies beat Redwood Valley 90-30 on the road.

Farmer is the eighth JCC girl to reach the 1,000-point milestone, joining Alaina Wolff (2,041), Whitney Burmeister (1,841), Sadie Voss (1,545), Brooke Burmeister (1,400), Kaylee Burmeister (1,319), Angie Hummel (1,214) and Nicole Ringquist (1,000).

Farmer entered the game needing 17 points for the milestone and made a basket late in the first half to put her at 1,001 points. She added six more to finish the game with 24 and sits at 1,007 for her career. Farmer also had six steals and four rebounds in the win.

Voss, who is third on JCC’s career scoring list with 1,545 points, scored 32 at Redwood. She added six steals and five assists.

Rylie Cother scored a career-high 16 points and had six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Kylee Wenzel scored eight points, Brylee Anderson scored six and Emma Haren rallied four.

JCC scored the first 12 points in the game, later led 25-2 and took a 50-9 lead into the half.

The win ends a three-game losing streak for the Huskies and puts them at 9-5 on the season. JCC returns to the court Monday at home against Worthington.
