Jan. 1

A deputy responded to a minor accident in the county.

Deputies assisted the Jackson Ambulance with a medical call.

Jan. 2

The K-9 Unit assisted the Martin County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop and K-9 sniff for narcotics.

A deputy assisted the Windom Ambulance with a medical call in northern Jackson County.

Jan. 3

A deputy responded to a burglary alarm.

A deputy responded to a car-vs.-deer crash on I-90 at Jackson. A tow truck was called to the scene to assist.

The Jackson Fire Department and deputies responded to a car fire on Thomas Hill in Jackson. Crews were on scene for about 1.5 hours.

Jan. 4

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in Jackson. After investigating, a 32-year-old male from Jackson was arrested for probable-cause domestic assault by strangulation.

A deputy conducted a welfare check on an individual.

A deputy responded to a minor accident in Jackson.

A deputy overheard radio traffic from the Minnesota State Patrol of a vehicle traveling north through Jackson on Highway 71. The vehicle was reported to have a person “car surfing” on the hood. The deputy located the vehicle near Subway and observed a young male surfing on the hood. Careless driving charges are pending for the driver of the vehicle.

Jan. 5

A deputy investigated an order-for-protection violation. Charges are pending.

Jan. 6

Deputies assisted a person locked out of a house in Jackson.

A deputy responded to a burglary alarm in the county. It was determined to be a false alarm.

The Round Lake Fire Department and deputies responded to a house fire in Round Lake Township. The house was destroyed by the fire. The sheriff’s office is working with the Red Cross to provide assistance.

Jan. 7

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 71 north of Jackson. The driver was issued a citation for driving after revocation and speed — 75 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone.

Deputies assisted the Jackson Ambulance with a medical call.

A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Middletown Township. It had been abandoned there for several days.

Jan. 8

Dispatch received a report of a water line break in Jackson. The city water department was notified.

A deputy assisted the Windom Ambulance with a medical call in Delafield Township.

Deputies responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in Jackson.

Deputies responded to a burglary alarm in Jackson. It was determined to be a false alarm.

A deputy issued a parking ticket in Jackson.
