Deputies responded to a disturbance in Jackson.

A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch in Petersburg Township. The deputy spoke with the owner about getting the vehicle removed.

A deputy responded to a report of an injured opossum in Jackson.

A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in the Subway parking lot in Jackson. The fire was quickly put out by bystanders.

A deputy responded to a report of water running over 810th Street just west of County Road 29 in Wisconsin Township. Public works department officials were notified and they put up barricades.

A deputy investigated a juvenile issue in Jackson.

June 21

Dispatch received a report of water over the road on Martin County Road 36 near Jackson County Road 22. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding this.

More reports of water over the road were received at the following locations: County Road 29/870th Street, County Road 3/County Road 68, County Road 29/Kimball corner and 770th Street/320th Avenue. The public works department and the townships were made aware of it.

Deputies established a slow/no-wake restriction on Fish Lake. There is a 5 mile-per-hour maximum speed on the lake until further notice.

A deputy checked on a report of water over the road on County Road 61 near 880th Street in La Crosse Township. The public works department was notified.

Deputies and the sheriff’s reserve assisted with traffic control for the Tri-for-Health race in Jackson.

Deputies assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a car-vs.-deer accident with minor injuries on I-90 near Jackson.

June 23

Deputies and the sheriff’s reserve assisted with traffic control for the Tri-for-Health in Jackson.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on County Road 34 in Des Moines Township. As a result, a citation for speed was issued.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop in Jackson. After investigating, a 36-year-old male from Jackson was arrested for third-degree controlled substance possession.

June 24

Deputies investigated a disturbance in Alpha.

Deputies assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with a welfare check on a motorist travelling on Highway 86 near I-90. Deputies transported the driver to the Sanford-Jackson Medical Center for further assistance.

A deputy investigated a report of property damage in Jackson.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop in Jackson. As a result, a citation for no Minnesota driver’s license was issued.

Deputies assisted the Jackson Fire Department with a fire in Petersburg Township.

June 26

A deputy investigated an attempted scam in Belmont Township.

A deputy investigated a harassment report in Jackson.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop in Jackson. After investigating, the driver was cited for driving after revocation.

June 27

A deputy located a dog-at-large that was reported earlier in the morning. The dog was returned to the owner who resides in the county.

A deputy conducted a welfare check on an individual in Christiania Township.

June 28

A deputy responded to a report of an intoxicated male possibly passed out in Jackson. The person was located and escorted to his apartment, which was nearby.

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle with two occupants. The vehicle was a white or silver SUV with South Dakota license plates. The caller stated two males came to a residence in Wisconsin Township trying to sell cleaning supplies. They were told no cleaning supplies were needed, and they left. They returned a short time later and one of the males aggressively asked to come into the house to use the phone, even though he was seen holding a cellphone earlier. The other male was seen looking through the garage. They left abruptly travelling north on Highway 71. Deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol searched for the vehicle, but were unable to locate it.

June 29

A deputy investigated a driving complaint of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on I-90 near Jackson. The deputy located the vehicle and issued a citation for speed — 104 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone.

June 30

A deputy responded to a report of a large sinkhole on County Road 16 east of Highway 71 in Enterprise Township. The sinkhole was located and the public works department was notified. Barricades were put up.

July 1

Deputies responded to a report of water over the road on Ashley Street near Jackson City Hall. The public works department was notified.

A deputy responded to a report of a pontoon and jet-ski that were both floating across a lake. The deputy used the sheriff’s office boat and was able to tow both units back to their owners. The local conservation officer assisted as well.
